Recognition of Excellence

NHSBT’s Recognition of Excellence Scheme is an organisational-wide initiative which is open for nominations all year round. In order to be nominated for an award the nominee must be an employee of NHSBT. If this is not the case or if you wish to recognise an external person or team, you may wish to use this Exceptional Partnership Certificate. The climax of the scheme is the presentation of annual awards at NHSBT’s Annual Awards Ceremony.

Any employee can nominate another employee or team for a monthly recognition of excellence in the categories below:

Note, if you are nominating more than 1 person in the same nomination, please complete the team nomination form. The categories for Employee, Manager, Customer Service and Apprentice are for individuals only.

  • Exceptional Employee
  • Exceptional Manager
  • Exceptional Team
  • Exceptional Customer Service
  • Exceptional Apprentice

How to Nominate

All NHSBT employees are eligible to nominate and be nominated using the nomination form. All nominations will be recognised unless there is an outstanding or on-going disciplinary issue affecting the nominated employee. Nominations for teams must be for teams which usually work together as a team and are usually managed by the same manager.

Certificates will be posted to the recipient's manager for presentation in the month after the nomination is received

All nominations are assessed against NHSBT’s values of:

  • Caring – we care about our donors, their families, our staff and the patients we serve.
  • Expert – we are expert in meeting the needs of our customers and partners.
  • Quality – we provide quality products, services and experiences for donors, staff and patients.

You will be asked to provide evidence of your nominated colleague(s) going above and beyond what is normally expected of them within their role. You will also be asked to indicate any challenges or obstacles they overcame to achieve positive outcomes. The voting panel only take information from the nomination form, so ensure you provide sufficient information as to why the nominee should be recognised.

Please don't use this form if you are wishing to submit a nomination for the National Awards Ceremony

Nomination Process

After the end of the month in which the nomination was received, the Manager of nominated individuals and teams will receive a copy of the nomination form, a certificate and a small memento to present to the recipient/s. The nominator is emailed to advise the certificate has been sent.
