Equality of opportunity in talent management and succession planning

We are working towards applying an inclusive talent management approach for all colleagues in the organisation, rather than restrict talent management to senior leadership only. This will take some time, as each manager needs to have a conversation with each team member about their career aspirations and development needs. We have therefore started this approach with senior leadership colleagues in the first instance and will communicate out how we will apply talent management more widely as our talent management model evolves. 

In the meantime, to ensure that equality of opportunity exists in talent management and succession planning, it is important that all NHSBT colleagues have an annual PDPR and the opportunity to discuss their career aspirations, their development needs and their development plan with their line manager.
