Retire and Return pay update

Date: 05 August 2019

NHSBT is relaxing their approach on pay for those retiring and returning to work with NHSBT.

This means that individuals will be able to work for the number of hours, and in the post, that fits their and NHSBT’s needs. The restriction that their post retirement salary plus pension must not exceed their pre-retirement salary has been lifted.

It is important to remember that Retire and Return is not a right and each individual application will be subject to agreement. Applications must continue to meet the NHS Pension Scheme regulations and fulfil NHSBT’s requirements, at that time, for any individual re-employment after retirement.
