NHS Blood and Transplant People First

PDP (Induction) & PDPR

The purpose of the annual Personal Development and Performance Review (PDPR) is to review your performance and behaviour, to highlight success and achievement and to agree objectives for the coming year.

A PDPR is a two way conversation about:

  • what you have achieved
  • what you have found challenging
  • your development and career path

Don't forget to report that it has been completed using the PDPR Reporting Tool.

It is also important to remember that you can talk to your manager at any time, you don’t have to wait until your PDPR.

If you can't find the information you are looking for you can contact HR Direct or you can Raise a query online.

PDP (Induction) Guidance

The PDP (Induction):

  • is an introduction to our organisational culture, values, and ways of working
  • is an opportunity for new employees to become familiar with how we operate
  • provides employees with a clear set of work and behavioural objectives
  • clarifies the legal requirements and technical knowledge of the role

The above also applies when an employee changes role

PDPR Reporting

Don't forget to report that it has been completed using the PDPR Reporting Tool. Shine Academy is updated on a weekly basis.

Review – Updated PDPR Materials

We have been reviewing our PDPR process and materials. You have provided feedback on the current process and content and have highlighted some areas which could be better, which we have acted upon!

We are now reviewing our new PDPR materials to get your feedback for:

  • Ease of use and
  • Ability to enable a quality PDPR discussion

Before we launch the materials and the process in early 2019, there are just two documents for you to review and submit feedback on:

  1. PDPR discussion template – form to complete
  2. Prompt document – this provides open questions for everyone to consider (in preparation) and use to support the discussion

The Reporting Tool remains the same during the review – do complete it once you have had your PDPR. You can review the PDPR paperwork and submit feedback on them even if you have already had your PDPR this year – your feedback matters to us.

Submit your feedback through the PDPR Review page on Yammer or e-mail laura.unitt@nhsbt.nhs.uk directly.

When submitting your feedback, consider ‘what works well’ and ‘what could be better’. This is your opportunity to ensure our PDPR materials are easy to use and enable you to have a quality PDPR discussion – we welcome feedback from everyone!

The closing date for this will be 30th November 2018.
