Recruitment Process - Old

The Recruitment & Resourcing Department provides a comprehensive recruitment service to all directorates of NHSBT. We offer professional advice and administrative support to managers on the full recruitment and selection process from advertising to issuing contracts. We also provide support and guidance to candidates to ensure that we make the recruitment and joining process as smooth as possible.

At the beginning of the recruitment process you, the recruiting manager, will be allocated a ‘Recruitment Contact’ who will work with you to support you in recruiting your employees and meeting the timescales set out in the document ‘Working Together To Fill your Vacancy’.

If you want to change a fixed term role (or secondment) to a permanent position the post must be advertised internally through the normal recruitment process as outlined on the following pages.

If you require a member of the BAME Network to be on your interview panel, please see the BAME Staff details for panel meetings document.

If you know or are related to someone applying for your vacancy, you must declare this to your recruitment contact who will advise you on how to proceed.

If recruiting to your post proves difficult, or if there are exceptional circumstances, we can consider using a recruitment agency.  However, this will need to be agreed with your Director initially before discussing with a senior member of the recruitment team via HR Direct.

The Recruitment Process is split into the following sections:
