NHS Blood and Transplant People First

Shortlisting Old

As the recruiting manager you are able to review applications whilst the advert is live by accessing your NHS Jobs account.  This means that you can shortlist at a time that is convenient for you rather than waiting for the vacancy to close. If you have any difficulties accessing NHS Jobs or you have been locked out of your account please speak to your recruitment contact who will be able to assist you with this..

Each application must be reviewed, by at least two people, using the agreed criteria on the Recruitment Profile / Person Specification. Further details can be found in the NHS Jobs Guide - Reviewing and Shortlisting.

It is expected that shortlisting will be completed within 5 working days of the advert closing date to minimise delays.  If none of the applications received meet the essential criteria please discuss the next steps with your recruitment contact.

We will check any statutory registration (i.e. NMC, GMC, and HCPC) for all shortlisted candidates before inviting them to interview and again before an offer of employment is confirmed.

As part of our commitment to attracting and retaining disabled people we offer an interview to applicants who indicate they are disabled, if they demonstrate that they meet all the essential criteria. How to do this is covered in the instructions for Reviewing and Shortlisting.

All internal applicants who have not been shortlisted for interview can request feedback, however due to the number of applications received we are unable to provide feedback on shortlisting to external applicants.

All information relating to applicants must be kept secure and only shared where there is a genuine need.
