Give As You Earn (GAYE)

Give As You Earn (GAYE) allows you to select your own chosen charity (or charities) and donate directly from your pay. This donation is deducted monthly before any tax deductions are made. You can decide whether the deductions are made monthly or as a one off.

Unlike the Pennies from Heaven scheme, which can be found on the Charitable Giving Page, GAYE allows you to decide on the amount you donate, as well as the charity you donate to. GAYE is run through NHSBT's benefits provider, Edenred.

How does it work?

Give As You Earn is the UK's largest payroll giving scheme. It allows employees to donate to charity directly from their pre-tax salary. The employee chooses how much to give, and to which charity. As the donations are taken before tax is applied, a basic rate taxpayer that donates £5 will only see a deduction of £4 from their net pay.

How do I give?

Give As You Earn is flexible so you can give as much or as little as you like.
