Since May 2013, the government has required that employers enrol all new, eligible employees into a workplace pension scheme.
We are also required to enrol any current, eligible employees in to the workplace pension scheme every three years. The next review is due in May 2025.
From April 2022 all NHS Pension Scheme members will be in the 2015 Scheme.
Staff members who meet the eligible criteria will be enrolled in to the NHS Pension Scheme. There are two NHS Pension schemes; the 1995 / 2008 Scheme and the 2015 Scheme.
From 1 April 2022, all active members of the NHS Pension Scheme will be members of the 2015 Scheme
If you are not entitled to join the NHS Pension Scheme then you will be assessed and may be auto-enrolled into the National Employment Savings Trust (NEST).
If you are reaching your pensionable leaving date, you may wish to consider Flexible Retirement.
Employees in the 2015 pension scheme may also wish to consider Early Retirement Reduction Buy Out (ERRBO).
