Record sickness absence
This is done via the EASY system which is interfaced daily to the Electronic Staff Record (ESR). This is for pay and statistical reporting.
For some Blood Donation colleagues Nextra Rostering system is used to record sickness. For more information about recording via the Nextra system visit the Donor Session Information page.
Managers should record sickness absence on the first day of absence and return to work as soon as possible. This ensures sick pay and absence statistics are correct.
The EASY Absence - guidance will help you record, authorise, amend, view, and report on, current and historic sickness.
Amend or delete sickness absence
The Quick Guide - Deleting or amending absences helps you amend elements of sickness absence. However due to the nature of sickness absence, you cannot delete sickness from EASY/Nextra systems. If you require a sickness deleting please raise a query with HR Direct.
Return my Employee back from Sickness
On the return of your employee from sick leave you will need to:
- End the sickness in the relevant system.
- Have a return to work discussion with the employee.
