Work experience for School and College Students
Work experience places for Summer 2024 have now all been filled.
NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) offers an annual science-based work experience programme at some of our centres. It is co-ordinated by our Scientific and Clinical Training and Education team. The programme is for students aged 14-18 years (Years 10-13) who are interested in scientific or laboratory careers. Students must be sponsored to participate by their school or college.
Successful applicants can expect:
- to learn about the different departments that support our life saving work and how we support the wider NHS
- to meet colleagues in a variety of scientific and caring roles within our organisation include nursing and donor/patient care positions
- a hands-on practical in our on-site training lab
- an advice session to learn about careers in science, medicine and/or nursing.
We are not able to provide feedback on the progress of individual applications. Therefore, if you have not received an offer of a place by Friday 3 May, unfortunately your application was not successful.
