Work experience for School and College Students
NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) offers an annual science based work experience programme at some of our centres. It is co-ordinated by our Scientific and Clinical Training team. The programme is for students aged 14-18 years (Years 10-13) who are interested in scientific or laboratory careers. Students must be sponsored to participate by their school or college.
Successful applicants can expect:
- to learn about the different departments that support our life saving work and how we support the wider NHS
- to meet colleagues in a variety of scientific and caring roles within our organisation include nursing and donor/patient care positions
- a hands on practical in our on-site training lab
- an advice session to learn about careers in science, medicine and/or nursing.
Applications for work experience in June and July 2022 are now closed and places have been offered to successful candidates.
